Beauty of decay
(2019 - 2025)Fascinating places where men ended his commercial activity and left the spot deserted. Colours arise while time goes by.
Dreaming between haven and earth
(2015 - 2020)Photo serie about places that exist but which no one realizes this. Fascinating locations, but almost never visited by anyone. Centuries old and built long before the industrial revolution. Thick oak trees, cut down by hand in Belgium and France and transported here floating in the river Meuse. Great examples of sustainable construction.
Chrys Steegmans
(2011 - 2025)Like nature, the human being serves as an obvious source of inspiration in his sculptures. The contact with chalk stone, and the rich cultural history that is involved with this material, can be traced back in a great part of his works.
Sculptures in bronze
(1986 - 2025)It is always fascinating to see a design back after it is casted in bronze. It is not finished yet though. The cast requires some serious working, but little by little the sculpture approaches its final stage.
Stony environment
(2005 - 2021)A process of years led to stoney composition made of rubble, roof tiles, bricks and concrete blocks. In time these natural works of art will form a source of life. Hence the title 'the art of acception'. The love for ruins and decline is unmistakebly the source of inspiration for these 'living' compositions.

Collages, drawings and paintings
(2008 - 2025)Decline plays an prominent role in the work of Chrys Steegmans. Places which man considered to be useful for his economic purposes at some point in the past, but which are left a long time ago. Deserted stone quarries, coalmines, factories or barracks are the source of inspiration for the photo collages.
